Fine chrome recovery

Mineral Technologies has been supplying chrome recovery equipment to the Bushveld region for over 25 years, and globally across regions in Kazakhstan, India, Brazil, Turkey, and Europe.

Our equipment range benefits customers by producing consistently high recoveries over a wide size range, with maximised yield. Minimum slimes generation reduces water consumption, operating costs and maintenance requirements. The splitter accuracy and quality of manufacturing improve recovery of chromite for longer.

For the optimisation of chromite ore using gravity separation:

• MG6.22 – three and five turn models, in twin and triple start configurations with multiple auxiliary slide splitters have found a place in the rougher and scavenger stages of coarse chromite gravity circuits with performance that is unmatched.
• FM1 Spiral Separators – 6.5 turns in twin or triple start configurations with variable trough profile and multiple auxiliary slide splitters can be used in the fine mineral (20 – 150 microns) gravity circuits to achieve high mineral recoveries.
• HG10i Spiral Separators – seven turns in twin and triple start configurations with variable trough profile and multiple auxiliary slide splitters have been found to be superior to competitor units for upgrading the higher grade feed in coarse circuit stages.
• WW6e Spiral Separators – five or seven turn in single or twin start configurations allows enhanced mineral separation due to the addition of wash water and auxiliary con splitters.
• CS1 Spiral Separators – high performance, and high wear, three turns, and available in a single, twin or triple start configuration. It is the latest Mineral Technologies spiral development specifically designed for low-cost chromite beneficiation.

Readings 

• WHIMS – the inclusion of Wet Drum High Intensity Magnetic separators at various stages of the circuit, or on final production, is often to eliminate magnetite and non-magnetic minerals in order to produce high grade chromite concentrates.
  Nominal capacities range from 6 to 150 tonnes per hour.
• RED – the rare earth magnetic drum separator produces a very selective separation and was designed for high capacity and heavy duty applications.

Carrara 

• HTR equipment – has been successfully applied to the production of specialty high grade chromite products. The use of rare earth magnetic separators may also allow the fractionation of chromites into different Fe:Cr ratio streams.
