Matt is a mechanical engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral sands plants around the work. Having been with Mineral Technologies for most of his career, Matt has been responsible for managing the engineering and delivery of a number of mineral sands plants, including modular plants within Australia. For many years he managed the engineering department at Mineral Technologies and was responsible for enabling our team to deliver exceptional plant designs and process solutions. His focus now is on supporting our customers to identify and develop bespoke solutions for their projects around the world.
Brenda is a graduate of Stellenbosch University. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Chemical Engineering degree and is an alumni of the Management Development Program. Brenda has over 16 years experience in fine mineral processing in South Africa and more recently Australia. Brenda started her career with Black Mountain Mining on the Northern Cape of South Africa providing technical support to the production team. Brenda then worked with Tronox Namakwa Sands for almost 9 years, initially taking on the role of Production Manager before moving into metallurgy and becoming the Senior Metallurgist in the Western Cape based operation. Relocating to Australia in 2017, Brenda joined Mineral Technologies as a Sales Engineer, bringing her hands-on knowledge of fine mineral processing to help customers across Australasian region. Brenda recently presented a paper at the 22nd Annual Mineral Sands Conference in Perth on the topic of targeting low impact mineral processing. In 2021 Brenda was promoted to Regional Manager – Western Australia and now leads the team in helping customers to improve mineral processing operations and develop new opportunities across the region.
Matt is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and an accomplished Project Manager. With 15 years’ experience in the mineral processing industry, Matt’s focus is on delivering high quality, solutions-based outcomes for customers.
Most recently, Matt lead our global Engineering Services team as Engineering Operations Manager. A role that was challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
A former elite athlete and Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) scholarship holder, Matt enjoys the challenge of performing in high pressure environments and thrives on values-based, collaborative leadership.
Leopoldo holds a degree in Industrial Mechanical Engineering from CEFET-MG and an MBA in Business and Project Management from IETEC – Instituto de Educação Tecnológica. Leopoldo has over 12 years experience in iron ore, tin and industrial minerals; particularly with testing programs in gravity and magnetic separation, project implementation, site services and commissioning. Joining Mineral Technologies in 2005, Leopoldo spent his first 4 years in operations, supervising and QC of spiral assembly in Brazil, running gravimetric lab testworks and providing after sales assistance across the Brazil region. Leopoldo now leads Mineral Technologies South American team.
Dale Henderson graduated from the University of Queensland with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering Studies. He has worked in mineral sands operations running an exploration and quality control laboratory, looking after the metallurgical performance of a 3000 tph floating concentrator, investigating an alternative for synthetic rutile production and developing an operation for the recovery of monazite. Dale had metallurgical responsibility for the operation of a hematite beneficiation operation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and worked on the design of several gold operations with a large engineering design company. Dale started as a metallurgist with Mineral Technologies in 1992 after which he moved into a marketing role. Dale has been responsible for major contracts for the supply of goods and services including Iluka’s Douglas project, MDL’s Grande Cote project and Trimex’s Srikakalum project. Dale is now responsible for developing opportunities for Mineral Technologies equipment and services across Australia and Europe.
With a background in process engineering and metallurgy complemented by business management studies, James is able balance technical aspects with corporate requirements to ensure positive outcomes for both MT and its customers across the African continent. He is an excellent communicator with hands-on experience in and deep understanding of what it takes to deliver successful projects. James takes great pride in his ability to think outside the box and bring return on investment to MT’s global customer base.
