General Manager – Global Sales, Mineral Technologies
Ken is a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines and spent his first 11 years in operations with notable companies which included Barrick Gold, Placer Dome & Unimin. He was involved with 8 operations during that time and was in the commissioning team of 3 of those including Minera Alumbrera in Argentina. Ken held positions of increasing responsibility from Operations Metallurgist through to Plant Superintendent. He then joined Outokumpu (now Outotec), FLSmidth and Eriez Flotation where upon leaving he was VP North America, Director North & Central America and Director Global Sales respectively. Ken is honoured to have been awarded the Canadian Mineral Processor’s Ray MacDonald Volunteer Award (2017) & Bill Moore Special Achievement Award (2009). Ken joined Mineral Technologies in January 2017.
General Manager – Engineering & Metallurgy, Mineral Technologies
Tom Lawson is a Mechanical Engineer graduate of Central Queensland University, Australia. Tom’s initial work in the Research and Development of Natural Gas Transport engines and refuelling systems was followed by joining Mineral Technologies in 1995 as an R&D Engineer developing mineral separation equipment including the MG6 series of spirals. Tom went on to manage Mineral Technologies South African operations for 4 years and has since held senior leadership positions including Operations, Engineering, Production, Service and Marketing. In his current role, Tom brings his 27-years experience with Mineral Technologies to lead teams in delivering laboratory process solutions, feasibility studies, pant design and EPC delivery solutions for customers worldwide.
Alex de Andrade
General Manager – Equipment & Technology, Mineral Technologies
Alex de Andrade is a Mechanical Engineer graduate of the University of Johannesburg with a Masters from the University of South Queensland. Alex has over 16 years of extensive experience in LEAN operations management and has held senior roles with leading original equipment manufacturers including Joy Global, Multotec. Alex has also held the position of Engineering Manager for DRA, a large project EPC/M, and has a strong project management background. Alex joined Mineral Technologies in 2013 and is responsible for the entire equipment supply chain from R&D through design, manufacturing and commissioning, to customer service and support, as well as overseeing multiple global production facilities.
Executive General Manger, Engineering and Technology, Downer
As Executive General Manager of Downer’s Engineering and Technology group, Andrew manages a portfolio of industry leading businesses including Mineral Technologies. Holding a BSc Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, Andrew has extensive experience in the mining and engineering sectors. Andrew has held senior positions with ADP and Joy Global. Andrew joined Mineral Technologies in 2005 as R&D Manager.
